I have the marriage record of my 4th great-grandparents, but I can't quite make out her name.Β  Ancestry and other sites make suggestions, but I don't think it says what they say it does.Β  If that made any sense.Β  πŸ™‚

I'm going to attach a cropped image of just her name to this post.Β  Any suggestions?

I saw this post several weeks ago, but I've sat around for the past few days trying to figure it out. Even going to the actual record to see if I could get any reference point of the person's handwriting. The scan is either bad or the ink has faded too far gone. I've read tons of old documents, but lord knows what her name is, my fiancΓ© and I thought Derly, Darly, Derby, or Darby Hill, but we could be entirely wrong.

Thanks for trying.Β  You've actually confirmed my first instinct, which says the first letter is a "D" and the third an "r".Β  Ancestry claims "S" and "e", respectively.Β  Β I've also wondered if it might be Deely or Dealy.Β  Her daughter's name was Delana, sometimes written as Delaney.
