In the name of God Amen

I Joel KING of North Carolina in Craven County being in sound & perfect mind & memory doe make this my last will & testament in manner & form following

first my will is that my Debts and funeral Carges be paid and Satisfied

I lend unto my beloved Wife one half of my Plantation with all my improvements & all my woodling land joining the plantation from a Crop fence that runs north & South through the middle of the plantation the East part I lend unto my wife during her natural life

I Give unto my Daughter Mary KING one bed & furniture the aforesaid bed & furniture I give unto her & her Heirs for Ever

I Give unto my Daughter Dorcas KING one bed & furniture the aforesaid bed & furniture I give unto her & her Heirs for Ever

I Give unto my Daughter Nancy KING one Bed and furniture the aforesaid Bed and furniture I give unto her and her heirs forever

I Give unto my three Daughters Mary Dorcus & Nancy Each of them one Cow & Calf the aforesaid Cattle I give unto them and their Heirs for Ever

I lend unto my beloved Wife all the remainder of my household furniture and all my Kitchen furniture the aforesaid furniture I lend to her during her natural life and after my Wife’s Death I give the aforesaid funiture to be equally divided between my Daughters that I had by my last Wife the aforesaid furniture I give unto them and their Heirs for Ever

I lend unto my beloved Wife one horse named Jacki two Cows and Calf two Sows & Piggs twenty four head of hogs also all my plnatation tools the aforesaid Articles I lend unto her during her natural life

I Give unto my daughter Lidy WILLIAMS ten pounds in Cash to be raised out of my Estate to her & her heirs for Ever

I Give unto my daughter Agness ROBERSON ten Pounds in Cash to be raised out of my Estae to her & her Heirs for Ever

I Give unto my Daughter Jerusaia (?) FOXINGS ten shillings in Cash to her & her Heirs for Ever

I Give unto my son Joseph KING ten shillings in Cash to him & his Heirs for Ever

I Give unto my Son John KING all my lands except that part that I lent to my Wife during her life & after her Death the said Lands to return to my Son John King the aforesaid Lands & Improvements I give unto him and his heirs forever

I Give unto my Daughters that I had by my last Wife after her Death my Horse Jack two Cows & Calves the aforesaid Horse and Cattle I give unto them & their Heirs for Ever

And my Will is that all rest of my property that is not mentioned in my Will shall be Sold at twelve months Credit and the money to be equally divided between my Seven Daughters Elizabeth, Lidy, Agness, Lucindy, Mary, Dorcas and Nancy the aforesaid money I give unto them and there Heirs for Ever

I Give unto my beloved Wife my riding saddle the aforesaid sadle I give unto her & her Heirs for Ever

I do Constitute and appoint my Son John King my Executor of this my last Will and testament and do hereby Revoke Disannul and make voyed all former Wills and Testaments by one heretofore made in Witness whereof

I the said Joel KING have set my hand and affixed my seal in the year of our Lord 1798 this 11th Day of September, Signed, sealed, published and delivered as this my last Will & Testament.
